Luisa Abram partners with people living in small communities along the Amazon to harvest and process wild cacao. By helping preserve native cacao, Abram’s approach pushes back against Brazil’s mono-varietal cacao farming. Using just two ingredients, cocoa and sugar, Abram’s bars express the spectrum of the cacao’s traits in a succinct and unparalleled manner. Her chocolate is made from bean to bar in Sao Paolo and has won numerous international awards.
In addition to her pure dark bars, we carry one with Cupuaçu--a native Brazilian fruit that is related to cacao. This tropical delicacy tastes like a combination of pineapple, lemon and papaya. It beautifully complements the citrusy taste of the dark chocolate it is paired with. What a unique treat!
